Juggling

Last day to join my party to win an agent critique! Go to this post from March 7 to join the fun.

****

I can't actually juggle. I've always envied people who could have three balls in the air at the same time. I'm not even all that good juggling on Wii Fit.

But juggling projects? I'm not half-bad.

I'm juggling two non-fiction projects. Really cool topic. The deadlines are staggered over the next three weeks. I'm also working on agent-revisions for my novel. Juggling fiction and non-fiction isn't as hard as it sounds (or so I keep telling myself.)

I have control over my fiction deadline--so I'm trying to stagger my workload to work on fiction one week, non-fiction the next. So I don't switch gears too quickly and hurt my brain. It will also allow me to let the fiction revisions "rest" while I work on nonfiction.

How do you juggle more than one project?

and letting any writing sit and then coming back to it is always a good thing.

I frequently juggle more then one project at a time, mostly because my muse refuses to sit still for more than three minutes. He is like a petulant three-year-old!

It certainly sounds like you have your hands full! I often juggle projects, and I find that the more different they are from each other, the easier it is. I'm about to jump from one funny tween book to another right now, and I'm actually a little worried that the voices will start to blend. We'll see...

I dedicate certain days to specific kinds of writing. Then I can juggle multiple projects without feeling overwhelmed getting confused.

I work on whatever project is stressing me the most, which is usually the project with the closest deadline. That way I sleep better at night.

Juggling three balls is way easier than juggling projects is for me. Heck, a five ball multiplex is easier than balancing more than two projects. And I'm a complete klutz.
