Where are Gay Parents in Children's Literature? Blog series starts Monday

Jonathon Arnston and I are starting a blog series spotlighting the presence of gay parents in children's literature on Monday, August 15. Please check back and join the conversation.

If you're interested in joining and have a book or two (or more) that you'd like to feature, you may email Jon at jonarntson AT gmail DOT com or send a Twitter message to @JonathonArntson.

Hope to see you back here on Monday!

In other news...I started a short story yesterday about a character in my novel. Wrote almost 2000 words. Totally shocked myself.

That's interesting. I've never really thought about that before, probably because there's usually only ever one parent or guardian. I want to see more parents who actually like each other in children's literature. Lots of children have a parent who died or are divorced, but there are children with parents in a good marriage/partnership too.

Good for you on your short story! Have fun and keep it up!

Great idea! I'm coming up with relatively few examples off the top of my head, and hope there are lots more out there.
