This picture was taken 30 years ago. In 1981. Holy Cow do I feel old.
True facts:
I was always a serious student.
My favorite books from that age were Anne of Green Gables, The Black Stallion and Nancy Drew.
I played the flute from the fourth grade to the ninth grade.
But I loved being in chorus more.
I took the bus every day to school until I graduated from high school
I was on my high school yearbook staff my junior and senior years.
The only sport I ever played seriously was golf. I tried out for the boys' golf team my junior year of high school--I didn't make it.

I still have most of my Black Stallion books in the attic. My daughter never even wanted to read one! Great pic. :)
That's a really cute picture. Fun post! :)
OMG you're making me feel OLD!!
I actually only read adult books as a kid, because that was what was in my parents library. Mostly SF from my dad. Maybe that's why I love MG and YA now? ;)
Laura--mine are long gone, but I loved those books.
Julie--thanks.
Ansha--why? I'm still older than you!
Love the candid photo!
I told someone the other day that I was in the depths of depression and she started cracking up because she still uses that expression too. Amazing the influence Ann of Green Gables has on all of us :)
I loved Nancy Drew!
Great walk down memory lane. Thanks for sharing and happy to meet you through the challenge!
That's a really cute picture. I can see why it was included in the yearbook! Black Stallion was one of my favorites, too. These are some interesting tidbits about you.
I haven't been keeping up with the challenge very well, but I had to read this one. I also like the picture. Ann of Green Gables - total fav!
